Bars thrive in downtown Put in Bay from early afternoon at put in bay frosty's until 2am every day of the week at level 2 put in bay. Weekends, however, is when Putinbay shines from mr eds put in bay to the beer barrel saloon put in bay. Literally! The whole downtown strip is lit up with neon and streetlights and has almost a Mardi Gras type feel to it. You can see entertainers like pat dailey put in bay at the boathouse put in bay. BLUE MARLIN TIKI BAR

Located within the Put in Bay Resort complex, the Blue Marlin Tiki Bar is a favorite for both guests and islanders alike. Offering thirst quenching frozen tropical drinks and a full service bar, this hotspot will surely cool you off. There is also delicious BBQ food available from Z's Texas BBQ at the Blue Marlin. MR. Ed'S BAR AND GRILLE

Mr. Ed's is definitely the place to be for lunch, dinner or late night on the island. The happy hour prices are unbeatable – some of the best on Putinbay – as are the bands (always crowd pleasers) and the rooftop bar upstairs (the view of downtown Put in Bay is amazing). The sports bar feel of the afternoon, where you can eat wings and watch the game on one of 15 plasma TVs, segues into an all-night indoor and outdoor party after dark.

MR. ED'S MIST

This breath taking new pool bar will include... two bars... a forty-five by twenty-two bar out of the water (for all of you people that do not like swim up bars) and a 15 seated center swim up bar, two waterfalls, a gerado, four cabanas, vip services, and a 2000 square foot pool, with a breath taking atmosphere! MIST will be opening at the end of May, with dj entertainment every Friday and Saturday afternoon and live bands at night.

RITA'S CANTINA

A lakefront restaurant and bar serving some of the freshest seafood on the Ohio islands, including its world-famous Lobster Bisque, and a daily drink special including a margarita bar! The menu for this casual dining joint includes choices from a seafood lover's dream, like perch, Alaskan King Crab, and shrimp, as well as burgers, fries, and pizza. There is even Taco Tuesday and Sushi Thursday!

CRESCENT TAVERN

The Crescent Tavern is an island restaurant that truly has it all. Chow down on bay barbeque and cold drinks from the Gazebo Bar and Grille on the patio outside or enjoy a homestyle lunch or gourmet dinner inside. Either way, you can enjoy a casual dining atmosphere that's friendly for the whole family in a Victorian building packed with Put-in-Bay history.Sundays are pasta buffet night and Wednesdays are prime rib night.

FROSTY'S FAMILY PIZZA AND BAR

Enjoy a crisp and refreshing ice cold island beer in one of Frosty's frosted beer mugs! Combine that with a slice of pizza and a game of pool with your pals, and you're in Put-in-Bay heaven. If you're up before the middle of the afternoon the next day, stop by for a delicious breakfast.

MOSSBACKS ISLAND BAR AND GRILLE

Mossbacks is an upscale restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. Go for fresh walleye and perch, massive burgers, grilled paninis, steaks, chops or just the great view of DiRivera Park and the public docks on Lake Erie. Kids can choose a meal from a menu just for them. Mossbacks also has a full service bar with domestic and imported beers, scotches, bourbons and wine; or you can go next door to the Fishbowl for a drink.

ODDFELLOWS TAVERN

Big sandwiches, soups and specialty desserts aren't the only thing Odd Fellows Tavern specializes in. With 20 different types of beer and cherry and grape bomb specials, their choice for drinks is quite extensive as well. Do a "Tiny Tini" shot and keep the glass. Check out the vintage video games and 50-inch plasma TV too. Located on Catawba Avenue in downtown Put in Bay, a block from DiRivera Park and Lake Erie.

PRESS HOUSE JOE'S BAR

With a motto of "Beer is Food. Eat at Joe's," how can you go wrong? Stop by Joe's Bar to get a personal vibe and some local color - you'll swear you're in old Key West. Joe's also serves surprisingly affordable sandwiches and dogs and has a carryout beverage store onsite. Did we mention that Joe himself is a pretty cool guy with lots of good stories?

THE ROUNDHOUSE BAR

The Roundhouse Bar (RHB) has had a long tradition of good music, good friends, and cold beer for over 135 years. In the early years, it was extremely inappropriate and taboo for a gentleman and a gentlewoman to enjoy a cold beverage with one another in the same bar. Always the trailblazer, The Roundhouse Bar eradicated this taboo once and for all and became the first drinking establishment on the island to allow men and women to share in a drinking camaraderie.

THE SKYWAY RESTAURANT AND LOUNGE

The Skyway is the original late-night Ohio Island hotspot where people go to continue the party once the bars in downtown Put-in-Bay close for the night. Located off of Langram Road near the Put in Bay airport, The Skyway also serves delicious dinners, has an impressive wine list and can cater weddings, banquets, and other special occasions on the island. Don't leave without having an island-famous martini.

THE BOATHOUSE BAR AND GRILL

We have one brewery on Put-in-Bay island, and this is it. The Brewing Co. is home to great pizza, late nights (open until 2:30 a.m. daily), live entertainment and at least three different beers brewed right here: Ole Cotton Top Irish Red, Summer Brew and Fat Man's Friend. Kids and adult menu offer wide variety of appetizers, pizzas, wings, sandwiches, ribs, steak, perch, South of the Border menu and Putinbay's only Beer Cheese Soup. Dine in or takeout.

TONY'S PLACE

Everyone is welcome at Tony's Place, from kids to their grandparents. Where else on Put in Bay can you go to order a beer and an ice cream cone in one sitting? Check out the foosball, bowling and arcade games while you enjoy your treat, but be forewarned: the bartenders run a tight ship - good behavior only, please!

GAZEBO BAR & GRILL

Sit outside and basque in the sun at this outdoor tavern in beautiful downtown Put in Bay. Listen to the music stylings of Westside Steve throughout the season, while watching the many people walking by. Looking for some good eats while visiting the Lake Erie Islands? Check out Subway for freshly prepared sandwiches and pizzas. Subway at Putinbay is located behind Mr. Ed's Bar and Grille and the Commodore Hotel. Remember, Subway is open late to serve you. And remember, Eat Fresh!

Z'S TEXAS BBQ

Z's is how Put-in-Bay does barbeque. Diners won't be disappointed with the Southern-style slow cooked ribs, burgers, brisket and sandwiches, all served poolside at the Put in Bay Resort and Conference Center's 40-person Jacuzzi and heated pool. Grab an icy frozen drink from the swim-up bar to enjoy while lounging poolside or jamming to music played by a DJ on Fridays and Saturdays. Weather permitting, the Caribbean-themed Blue Marlin Tikki Bar is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

THE BOARDWALK

A lakefront restaurant serving some of the freshest seafood on the Ohio islands, including its world-famous Lobster Bisque - what's not to love? The menu for this casual family dining restaurant includes choices from a seafood lover's dream, like perch, Alaskan King Crab, and shrimp, as well as burgers, fries, and pizza. A great mix of live bands can also be found at The Boardwalk. Getting to Put-in-Bay by your own personal boat? The Boardwalk has 80 mooring buoys and a harbor taxi for diners.

CHICKEN PATIO

Chicken Patio, located in downtown Putn Bay next to the Roundhouse, has been an island staple since 1952. The chicken is grilled over a 21-ft. open pit and is slathered with Chicken Patio's own famous wine-based barbeque sauce. Dinner also comes with roll, potato salad and sweet corn on the cob. What could be better than enjoying a classic family favorite while being a stone throw from Lake Erie? Whether you're looking for hot eats or cool treats, DQ's got it. Grab a cone on your way to or from the Jet Express - it's right next to their docks in downtown Putinbay.

HEINEMAN'S WINERY

Heineman's Winery is the only fully operational winery in Put-in-Bay Ohio. No visit to the bay is complete without stopping by to sample the island's own wine. The winery offers tours and samples of grape juice, wine, cheese and crackers. Adults and kids alike will also have fun venturing down into Crystal Cave, the world's largest geode.

JOLLY MON ISLAND CAFE

Can't stand to be cut off from the World Wide Web while on Put in Bay island? Get your e-mail fix at Jolly Mon, the bay's only Internet cafe. While you're there, why not sip a frozen coffee or fruit smoothie, gourmet coffee, Oregon Chai Tea latte or espresso. If you're looking for something with a little more substance while you're surfing, try fresh fruit, a pastry or Toft's ice cream.

MAMA MARIA'S

Nothing quite hits the spot after a late night like one of Mama Maria's homemade meatball sandwiches or a slice of gooey cheese pizza. Luckily, Mama Maria knows we crave her cooking at all hours of the day and night, so her place stays open as late as the bars (or later). The patio makes for a great place to take in the view of the harbor and downtown Putinbay at any time.

PASQUALE'S

Eating in Pasquale's is eating in one of the buildings with the richest history on South Bass Island! Stop by for breakfast - don't miss the omelet menu - lunch or dinner and enjoy family-friendly dining in a casual atmosphere. Pasquale's is known for its pasta and windows looking out over downtown Put in Bay.

VICTORY LANDING

Victory Landing, in South Bass Island State Park, is the place to go if you're looking to escape the madness of downtown. Get breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks and enjoy the beautiful view from the deck of Lake Erie and sunbathers on the stone beach. The playground and swings will keep the kids occupied; there's also room for Frisbee, volleyball, softball, whatever. Jet ski rentals are nearby.

VILLAGE BAKERY

Even if you promise yourself that you'll only order a wrap or sandwich, you can't leave the Village Bakery without a cupcake, cookie or Danish (our personal favorites are the Palmier cookies that melt in your mouth!). Everything in the bakery is homemade from scratch and served fresh daily. In other words, it's absolutely unbeatable.

THE FISH SHACK

Within The Boardwalk Restaurant is a great eatery that offers fresh Lake Erie Walleye and Perch sandwiches. Gaze at the waters your meal was caught in as you sit on the spacious outdoor patio. Don't forget to get some signature Jumbo Onion Rings to accompany your order. See you at the Shack!

CAMEO PIZZA

Continuing the family tradition of great pizza when you need it, Cameo Pizza on has become a staple of downtown Putinbay. Offering free delivery to anywhere on the island, you can enjoy piping hot delicious pizza wherever you may be on PIB. There is also pizza by the slice that is offered after midnight to curb your late night hungers. Stop by on Catawaba Rd. across from the Put-in-Bay Police Department.

LATITUDE

Situated within the Harbor Village complex, Latitude has a variety of options for all tastes. Wood fired pizzas and fabulous martinis are a few examples of the great offerings this eatery offers. Enjoy views of Perry's Monument from their outdoor patio. Stop by and check out one of Put-in-Bay's newest offerings!

BOOK'S SEAFOOD

Another great offering at The Boardwalk Restaurant, Book's Seafood boasts a variety of delicious entrees. King crab, lobster, shrimp, and mussels are a few of the great seafood fare you'll find here. Come and enjoy some of the best views PIB has to offer on the outdoor patios.

UPPER DECK

With gorgeous panaramic views of the Lake Erie Harbor, the Upper Deck Restaurant view is as great as the food. Located on the second level of The Boarwalk Restaurant next the Put in Bay public docks, the fresh seafood options will surely please your palate. Come and catch a great view and meal.

ISLAND SCOOPS

At the Lime Kiln Dock of the Miller Ferry is a great spot to cool off. Ice cream offerings include milkshakes and cones, and they will surely help you beat the heat on those hot summer days. Also, Island Scoops offers hotdogs and pizza by the slice from Cameo Pizza of Putinbay. So, whether you are coming or going, they are ready to serve you at the Lime Kiln.
