Put-in-Bay’s Got Talent Thursday, March 23rd, at 7 p.m. is when islanders will gather at the school gym to enjoy the talents of fellow islanders. It’s the Annual Talent Show where islanders of all ages can perform for cash prizes. The show is free and open to all. If you have a talent, there’s still time to rehearse and sign up for the show. By Paul Bolden, Captain of the 9th Coast Guard District, Central Region Sea State As of this writing the current Lake Erie sea temp off Put-in-Bay is 33.8°F and 34°F off of Port Clinton. Water temperature at Put-in-Bay is expected to drop to 33.1°F in the next 10 days. Waves over the next several days should be 2-5 feet with waves occasionally around 6 feet. Winds 15 to 20 knots. A non-political correct term referring to Native American women, which some decry as a racist and sexist slur, has been removed as a name for hundreds of locations in the U.S., including Squaw Harbor at the western end of Put-in-Bay Harbor. September 2022 Gazette - Thank You from The Middle Bass Barbershop Quartets!

There is so much entertainment offered in our Lake Erie Islands Region! Yet, it is little-known that over 100 Barbershop Quartet singers gather on Middle Bass and South Bass Islands for a weekend every August. The tradition dates back over 70 years. This year was logistically challenging for the scheduled Friday night performance at Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church on Put-in-Bay.

May 2022 Gazette - Perry Monument Seawall Restoration Project Update

The seawall contractor E.S. Wagner Co. began mobilizing in March and is making great progress. Work along the far northwest section is moving quickly with the installation of a turbidity curtain. Saw cutting has started which will result in the removal of the top 3 feet of the existing seawall. New concrete will be added and when complete, this section of the seawall will be 12 inches taller.
