Put-in-Bay’s Got Talent Thursday, March 23rd, at 7 p.m. is when islanders will gather at the school gym to enjoy the talents of fellow islanders. It’s the Annual Talent Show where islanders of all ages can perform for cash prizes. The show is free and open to all. If you have a talent, there’s still time to rehearse and sign up for the show. There is so much entertainment offered in our Lake Erie Islands Region! Yet, it is little-known that over 100 Barbershop Quartet singers gather on Middle Bass and South Bass Islands for a weekend every August. The tradition dates back over 70 years. This year was logistically challenging for the scheduled Friday night performance at Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church on Put-in-Bay.

The Lake Erie Islands Conservancy (LEIC) and Put-in-Bay Township Park District have partnered on a major conservation project on South Bass Island (Put-in-Bay, Ohio): The partnership involves a three part acquisition program. The total project is over 30 acres. Part 1: The Duff Woods Preserve has been completed and is open to the public.

The Lake Erie Islands Conservancy and the Put-in-Bay Township Park District dedicated the Duff Woods Preserve on Mitchell Rd. on South Bass Island on Sunday afternoon, September 18th.
